Pearl & Jewellery Care

Pearl & Jewelry Care

Every Sanish Pearl piece is made with premium-quality pearls and carefully selected, high-quality materials, designed to be enjoyed beyond special occasions. Wear your pearls confidently as part of your everyday style, without constantly worrying about tarnishing or damaging your jewelry. Pearls are natural, organic gems, however, and a little care goes a long way. To help preserve their beautiful luster and keep your pearls healthy for generations, follow these simple care guidelines.

Pearl Care

Last On, First Off

Pearls should always be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

Apply perfume, hairspray, makeup, skincare, sunscreen, and lotions before wearing your pearls, allowing them to dry completely beforehand.

Keep Pearls Away from Chemicals

Avoid exposing your pearls to:

  • Perfume
  • Cosmetics and skincare products
  • Hairspray
  • Household cleaning products
  • Bleach and chlorine
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Strong detergents

These products can gradually damage the pearl's natural lustre and surface.

Clean After Wearing

After each wear, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove:

  • Skin oils
  • Perspiration
  • Makeup residue
  • Dust

For a deeper clean, wipe the pearls with a soft cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap, then wipe again with clean water and allow them to dry naturally.

Never use:

  • Ultrasonic cleaners
  • Steam cleaners
  • Abrasive jewellery cleaners
  • Silver polish
  • Toothpaste or baking soda

Store Your Pearls Properly

To help preserve their beauty:

  • Store pearls separately from other jewellery to prevent scratches.
  • Keep them in their original Sanish Pearl box or a soft jewellery pouch.
  • Store pearl necklaces and bracelets flat rather than hanging to prevent the thread from stretching.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, excessive heat, and very dry environments.

Inspect Your Jewellery

Regularly check your jewellery for:

  • Loose clasps
  • Frayed or stretched thread
  • Loose pearls
  • Loose stone settings

If your jewellery requires repair or restringing, we recommend having it professionally serviced rather than attempting repairs at home.

Jewellery Care

Many Sanish Pearl designs combine pearls with precious materials such as diamonds, zircon, sterling silver, gold, and platinum. While these materials are highly durable, they also benefit from proper care.

To keep your jewellery looking its best:

  • Remove jewellery before exercising, swimming, showering, sleeping, or performing household tasks.
  • Avoid contact with perfume, lotions, cosmetics, chlorine, bleach, and household cleaning products.
  • Store each piece separately to prevent scratches and tangling.
  • Clean metal surfaces gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or rough brushes.
  • If your jewellery contains pearls, never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
  • Have frequently worn jewellery professionally inspected from time to time to ensure clasps and stone settings remain secure.

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Fine jewellery is made to be worn and enjoyed. With regular care and thoughtful storage, your Sanish Pearl jewellery will continue to shine beautifully for generations to come.
